Walking among Magellanic Penguins

Walking among these Magellanic penguins was an incredible experience. Millions of them migrate to this area of Patagonia every year to breed. The males arrive first to prepare the nest (a sort of hole in the ground, generally under a bush) in exactly the same spot every year. The male-female pairs are life-long partnership and they can raise up to two chicks every year.
It was real privilege to get so close to them, they're so charismatic.

Ce fut une expérience incroyable de marcher au millieu de ces pingouins. Ils sont des millions chaque année à migrer jusqu'à cet région de la Patagonie.  Les mâles arrivent en premier pour préparer le nid ( un sorte de terrier, généralement sous un buisson) au même endroit chaque année. Les couples mâle-femelle s'associent pour la vie et élèvent jusqu'à deux petits par année.
C'était un vrai privilège de pouvoir les approcher d'aussi près, ils on énormément de charme.
